American professional gridiron football’s NFL started in 1920 in American Professional Football Association. Jim Thorpe, a great American athlete who also played in the league, was elected as its first chairman. The regular season of the NFL typically spans from early September to Jan, and consists of 17 games per team and one by week. The preseason takes the month of August and lasts three weeks. The Super Bowl is held annually between both the AFC and NFC group champs in Feb. The playoffs are a single-elimination tournament that features 7 clubs from each conference (4 division champs and 3 wild card clubs). The league’s headquarters are located in NYC.

The 32 teams that make up the NFL are split evenly between 2 16-team divisions. For each league, there are 4 categories, each with two teams. There is a limit of 55 teammates per club that can join the squad during the season, only with 48 of those players being “active” (playing) on any given game day. It is permitted for each club to have an additional 12-man practice unit in addition to their official lineup.

The cowboys, who have a fan base of 8.51 million, have been the most valuable NFL franchise for the past 12 years running. Tom Brady got recognized as the number one player in the NFL, the quarterback for the buccaneers, as the league’s finest player as voted on by his peers on Sunday night. There’s a strange fact that an NFL commissioner once passed away in the audience, and the Chicago Bears have never had a quarterback throw for 4,000 yards. The Packers are the oldest NFL club along with the longest continuously operating NFL franchise.

A professional American football club, the Miami Dolphins are situated in the Miami metro region. They are a member team of the AFC. East division of the NFL. In Florida’s northern suburb of Miami Gardens, Hard Rock Stadium serves as the team’s home field. At the moment, Stephen M. Ross is the team’s owner. The Dolphins are Florida’s first-ever professional sports franchise. The Dolphins are the only AFC East team out of the four that is not a founding member of the AFL. Along with the Atlanta Falcons, the Dolphins were among the earliest professional football franchises in the southeast.

The Chicago Bears are an NFL franchise that calls the Windy City home. The Bears play in the national football league as representative of NFC North. Numbers of Bears players have been retired more often than any other team, and more Bears players have been admitted to the hall of fame of pro football. They have won 9 NFL titles and 1 super bowl. Bears also have a streak for the most wins by an NFL team. George Halas’ heirs own the franchise. His daughter, Virginia Halas McCaskey, her children, and grandchildren control 80percent of the shares, and she can speak for their interests as well as hers.

The Dolphins have been the club to prevent the Bears from carrying on with an unbeaten record twice in NFL history, in 1985 and 2006. It’s ironic that the team that knocked the Bears out of the playoffs twice was the Dolphins, the only unbeaten team in NFL history (their 1972 season). The historic Monday Night Football match occurred in Miami on the 2nd of Dec, 1985. The Bears entered this game without having lost a single game while playing their famous defense (the 46), created by former Bears defensive coordinator Buddy Ryan. Throughout season long, the defense was a major obstacle for opposing teams. It wasn’t until they arrived in Miami that they started to change their tune.

The Dolphins had a 9-4 record versus the Bears all-time; nevertheless, only five (1985, 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014) of those 13 games have been remembered fondly by supporters of both teams. Amongst the most memorable games in Dolphin’s history took place on December 2, 1985, the Chicago bears came with a perfect 13-0 record at the orange bowl and the goal of emulating the 1972 Dolphins’ Perfect Season. Don Shula, Dan Marino, and the rest of the Dolphins team, bolstered by the presence of ’72 alums on the sidelines, would have none of it and jumped out to a 31-10 advantage on their route to a 38-24 success.

Nothing too exciting happened for the Dolphins during the Bears’ 16-0 shutout of the Dolphins on November 18, 2010; however, Brian Urlacher and the rest of the Chicago Bears’ swarming defense had a big night, allowing only 187 yards and one third-down conversion as they handed the injury-plagued Dolphins their second home shutout in 40 years. Nonetheless, it was a historic evening, as former safeties Jake Scott and Bill Stanfill were inducted into the Dolphins Honor Roll during halftime, making them members No. 20 and No. 21 respectively.

And after 4 years, the Dolphins and the Bears, are set to match off. Both are strong teams now. The Dolphins went through the summer acquiring players like Terron armstead as left tackle and Tyreek hill as wide receiver in preparation for franchise quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. It shows what Bears fans hope the team will do for Justin Fields, the team’s franchise quarterback of the future. This should be a challenging matchup due to Miami’s strengthened roster. There is a prediction of a loss for the Bears (3-6).
